Set in 1955 London, See How They Run written by Mark Chappell is a witty, fast-paced murder mystery that pokes fun at Agatha Christie’s The Mousetrap. To match the film’s humor and energy, I leaned into the era’s bold colors, lively patterns, and glamorous silhouettes. Throughout the film, we see these characters in a variety of lavish settings such as the bubbly celebration of The Mousetrap’s 100th performance, a heated Savoy Hotel room, the suspenseful stage and audience of The Mousetrap, and a chaotic dinner party at Agatha Christie’s country home. This variety allowed me to explore the rich fashion landscape of the mid-1950s: formal black-tie events, everyday wear, and dramatic evening attire. By pairing historically accurate silhouettes with playful, expressive fabrics, I was able to highlight both the status and personality of each character—embracing the period’s elegance while echoing the comedic tone of the film.
